I thought it would be nice to start painting some smaller canvas boards with the possibility of hanging in a group. So these are the beginnings of what I will be painting for a while. All kinds of subject matter is jumping into my head, birds,butterflies,dragonflies,flowers...... it must be spring. These are all canvas boards 6x8in

We have been having some very mild weather which is a wonderful thing. But cloud cover is the price you pay for that mild temperature. So I thought I would paint something a little brighter than I typically do. Sometimes I will paint all day and complete a painting in a couple of days. Other times a painting will be an on going project continuing on for a week or more. This one was a little like that. I would get an hour or two in most days and finally....finished.  Acrylic on Canvas 12x16in Even though I have a small mountain of tomatoes that need to be roasted, my husband and I played hookie and it was just as much fun as ever. We went on a long drive on some of the areas back roads. I have a fondness for swamps and lily filled ponds. Sure the lakes are nice but my heart belongs with the frogs, minnows and plant filled wet spots that are teeming with life. So I thought my Lily Pond painting would be todays post, it seemed fitting.  Acrylic on a 12x24 canvas |
